| 2008 TASB Annual Report |
In the annual report for the Texas School Board Association, ten works of art were included from the TASB Art Exhibit as full page color reproductions. These pieces were enlarged and are hanging in the TASB building in Austin. For the first time, the entire show was professionally photographed and they will continue this at the next TASB conference.
Of these ten, two are from our district-Stratford and Edgewood.
I have enclosed a PDF of the Magazine.
Suzanne Greene says "I am so proud of my fellow art teachers."

| The "Show Truly Did Go On". |
As many of you know, Suzanne Greene, art teacher at SBM is currently serving in the role of Vice-President of Youth Art Month for the Texas Art Education Assn. Part of this responsibility consists of hanging an adjudicated k-12 student art show from across the state of Texas at the TASB conference in the fall.
In September Suzanne had prepared and stored these 100+ works from across the state in preparation for the show in her classroom when she left school the week of September 10th. That weekend a very special guest arrived in SBISD. His name was IKE and he brought a flood personally to Suzanne’s room! The student artworks were badly damaged and water logged. However, through the amazing dedication of a custodian named Marta, and the hard work and commitment of our wonderful Suzanne Greene and several fellow art teachers who spent hours after the storm drying and re-matting these works, the “show truly did go on”.
The rest is history-except for a new celebration! TASB’s current, just released publication features this art exhibit throughout the document. It also includes two SBISD students’ works, one from Edgewood and one from Stratford! What a commendation to all of the dedicated art educators who made this happen! Congratulations to all!
