Spring Branch Education Foundation Receives Gift from H-E-B
To commemorate the opening of the H-E-B Bunker Hill Market, 9710 Katy Freeway,
H-E-B presented a $5,000 grant to Spring Branch Education Foundation. In making the presentation, Tom Jarvis, H-E-B group vice president, said, “We admire Spring Branch Education Foundation’s commitment to education and the work it does to provide students with a quality education in a safe environment.”
H-E-B donates five percent of its pre-tax earnings annually to charitable organizations that are committed to making a positive difference in Texas communities in the areas of education, hunger relief, health, disaster relief, diversity, volunteerism and the environment.
“We welcome the Market to the community,” Warren Matthews, SBEF chair, said as he accepted the gift. “And we look forward to a great partnership in caring for the district’s children.”
H-E-B encourages excellence in teaching and learning and is committed to supporting education in the communities it serves. In 2002, H-E-B created the Excellence in Education Awards program in cooperation with the Texas Association of School Administrators as a positive way to support public education in Texas.
