Educators The Museum houses a Library of fine art posters, slides, videos and books which Educators may checkout for a period of 3 weeks. This service is offered free to SBISD Educators, and at a nominal fee for Educators outside the District.

School tours, developed by Museum
staff and a team of cross-disciplinary educators and
specialists, are in direct alignment with SBISD’s instruction
and curriculum competencies, support TAKS and incorporate
aspects of visual literacy using methods of aesthetic
criticism developed by Edmund Burke Feldman and recent
research on object-based learning by Howard Gardner.
Tours include an interactive journey through the Museum’s
exhibits, a movie in the Kiva and an art activity. Teachers
are also invited to work with Museum staff in customizing
a tour by choosing artworks and activities to create
a program that serves their needs. To see more see
