Employee of the Month
Kim Holton
Special Education Assistant
Spring Branch Middle School
Her nomination read, in part:
"Kim is extremely proactive and stays in close contact with all of the
teachers on our campus, asking for and reviewing lesson plans to familiarize
herself with content and deadlines, gathering materials needed for projects
(with her own money) and allowing students to use the computers in her
room during and after school hours.
She starts her day working with students before school and during our
Beartime Advisory Period. She helps them with their day-to-day work as
well as social studies and science projects. One of the most important
things Kim does for social studies is to help students keep up with their
work and organization of their interactive notebooks. The quality and
completeness of the notebooks has noticeably improved this year.
In her role of overseeing our Content Mastery Room, I have seen the
tremendous influence and positive effect she has on our students. More
than 100 special education students attend our school and many need individualized
attention. Kim manages to find a creative way to address all of their
needs.
Kim is very persistent, patient and supportive of special education
children. She earns the honor of Employee of the Month every day."
