Employee of the Month

Her nomination read, in part:

"Miss Minga is the major reason why we have so much heart and soul at Buffalo Creek. She is the Mother Hen, Task Master and Community Advocate all rolled into one who takes care of all of us.

She works long hours and has developed and nurtured a huge group of volunteers, taught ESL classes to parents and made sure all children have needed uniforms and school supplies. 'Minga's Moms' in our Parent Center are always busy volunteering on field trips, doing projects, laminating, helping in the cafeteria or helping out wherever they are needed. This is due to the tremendous respect and rapport Minga has established with our school and community.

She is more than a social worker--she is everything. She takes on as many tasks as necessary to provide for our children. She is tough when she needs to be, but as loving as they come when our children need it most. She is here for the students, parents, faculty and staff.

Minga simply lights up everyone's day with her positive attitude and the manner in which she gives so freely and unconditionally to all who come in contact with her. We are extremely fortunate to have her at Buffalo Creek."
