SBISD February 2007 Employee of the Month JoAnn Sodolak Administrative Assistant Wilchester Elementary School

Her nomination read, in part:

“This is JoAnn’s eighteenth year at Wilchester, where she has served as a prekindergarten assistant, health fitness assistant, attendance specialist and administrative assistant. She was instrumental in getting our school year off to a smooth start for staff, parents and students alike.

As Wilchester faced the transition of losing one principal and finding another, JoAnn became the administrative assistant and accepted the responsibility with enthusiasm and a positive spirit. During the months when a permanent leader was sought, JoAnn familiarized the interim principal with the school, policies, procedures and daily queries that cropped up continuously. She was steadfast and always available.

JoAnn quickly developed a trustworthy and dependable relationship with our school leaders. I have seen both the interim and now our new principal turn to her many times when questions arose with which they were not familiar. I have seen her compassionate response to children and their needs exhibited countless times. She consistently exemplifies the Wilchester ‘can do’ spirit.”
