SBISD March 2007 Employee of the Month Tinidad Rivera Assistant Childcare Manager Spring Branch Education Center

Her nomination read, in part:

“Trinidad is an excellent role model for the student parents in our program. Not only is she visible and has an open door policy—she herself is a graduate of the program. The young mothers in the school look at her and know they can succeed if they work hard and make education a priority.

She was a very intelligent student who faced all the challenges and struggles of being a school age parenting student. She completed all her school work, was employed in a work-study program, participated in community service, passed all parts of TAAS and graduated. She also maintained a positive family relationship. On top of all that, Trinidad is now pursuing her college degree and insistent on being the best role model possible for her own children and those she serves.

She has implemented many creative and supportive initiatives into the program. Her personal mission for the care and well-being for our students and their children is inspiring to us all.

Trinidad is so much more than a day care manager. She is living proof that it can be done and is passionate about what it takes to get there.”
