The SBISD November
2006
Employee of the Month is:
Aida
Interiano
Assistant Principal
Cedar Brook Elementary
School
Her nomination read, in part:
“There are numerous reasons why Aida
is deserving of this award, but two stand
out—her leadership and her focus on
instruction for all students at our school.
Students and staff feel welcome and challenged
to achieve as they know Aida is there to support
them in their endeavors. She goes the extra
mile to make sure teachers get whatever materials,
training and help they need, and this has
a direct impact on our students.
On Fridays, Aida is the ‘Popcorn Lady.’ She
makes popcorn, sells pickles or whatever it
happens to be to help with fundraising for
the school. Because of her, we were able to
support 10 Science Camps for our fifth graders
last year. Teachers and students loved coming
to camp, even on Saturdays. Writing Camp also
became a reality to all fourth graders. You
just had to see the smiles and wonderful work
of these young authors to know the impact
of this program.
We are inspired by Aida’s example and
know she is always there to help us. She truly
understands that to lead is to serve.”
