Claudia
Selzer
She also is an active member of Hunters Creek TRIBES Committee promoting the enhancement of a supportive climate for our students. Claudia is also the Hunters Creek contact for the Anti-Defamation League. In 2002, the campus applied for the National School of Character Award. Ms. Selzer willingly gave so much of herself to complete this process, which included gathering data, taking photos, creating documentation files and compiling all of it into a multi-faceted portfolio. Another major contribution is that Claudia co-chairs the Annual Lunch with Heroes, which commemorates the heroes of September 11 th by providing lunch for firefighters, police officers and other local heroes. The letters of nomination for Ms. Selzer for Volunteer of the Month all echoed two main points: she will do whatever is needed to improve the school community for the benefit of our students, and she does all of these things without expecting favors to be returned, attention to be paid, or public acclaim. She is an “unsung hero” of our district quietly fighting battles to make the teaching community at Hunters Creek the best that it can be. | |
The SBISD Volunteer of the Month Program is designed to recognize the many valuable contributions made by school volunteers in our community. The Volunteer of the Month selection committee is co-chaired by the Volunteer Programs and Special Events Specialist and the Executive Director of Community Involvement.
