February 2007 Volunteer of the Month

Mallory and James Shaddix

Mallory and James Shaddix

James and Mallory are like godparents to all students at Hollibrook Elementary School. They not only mentor students themselves--they have also recruited many other mentors from Memorial Drive Methodist Church. Both support the Hollibrook after-school program. James teaches baseball to boys and girls and helped acquire baseball equipment. They also helped provide equipment and materials for the school's gardening caretakers.

Mallory serves as a long-time mentor in the Collegiate Challenge program at Northbrook High School. She helps students through the application and admissions process and continues to stay in touch with them once they are in college.

In addition, their support of the Spring Branch Education Foundation has helped make it one of the leading foundations in the state.

SBISD is deeply appreciative of the service and commitment of Mallory and James Shaddix.
