March 2007 Volunteer of the Month

Luz Maria Quintanilla

 Luz Maria Quintanilla

Pine Shadows Elementary

It is the exceptional volunteer who donates over 100 hours of time each month to make a difference for our schools and our students. Luz Maria Quintanilla, mother of six, is just such a volunteer who works tirelessly nearly all day-almost every day-at Pine Shadows Elementary.

Whether volunteering in classrooms, monitoring students in the cafeteria or helping teachers make copies and laminate papers, she is dependable and works in many ways to improve the school. She also helps by using her bilingual skills to assist students as they are learning English.  Luz Maria sets a great example for other parents by attending all meetings and parent conferences. We are proud to recognize her as SBISD Volunteer of the Month.
