Buffalo Creek Elementary
This month’s award goes to a group of dedicated volunteers at Buffalo Creek Elementary. These volunteers are anything but ordinary; they are committed, optimistic, encouraging, hard working and patient. You can find this dedicated group of women working in the Parent Center from the early hours of 6:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and later doing whatever the teachers request. The variety of services these women perform ranges from assisting in the library and the classrooms to controlling traffic in the parking lot, helping out in the cafeteria, volunteering at carnivals and chaperoning field trips. Mentoring children is another extremely valuable service they provide for the students at Buffalo Creek Elementary.
This group of volunteers has an impact on the students that is far more effective than words can convey. They show students the positive effect that helping others has by always sporting a smile and sharing a laugh. Several of these women don’t even have children attending the school anymore but still continue to devote their time to the students and staff at BCE.
Their Volunteer of the Month nomination form included comments of gratitude and praise from almost every member of the Cedar Brook faculty and staff. The hard work and dedication of this group of women is an essential asset to Buffalo Creek Elementary. On behalf of Spring Branch ISD, we are proud to award them our November Volunteers of the Month.
