As Assistant Executive Administrator for Communications
, Steve is responsible for many of the Department's weekly Web site reports
and news releases. He also works on several publications, including the
Spring Branch ISD Current and the StarNews publication for mature residents.
His other duties include local media relations and campus publicity training
for staff, teachers and parents.
Steve has worked in media for 15 years. He reported on
education and Legislative news in Louisiana and Mississippi, and
worked for five years as religion and ethics reporter at the
Houston Post. He was also employed at the University of
Houston-Downtown, where he coordinated media relations and
university news.
An award-winning former journalist, Steve has won local, state
and regional awards for his writing. He is a member of the Texas
School Public Relations Association (TSPRA). He earned his
bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of
