The following information summarizes the status of the construction projects currently underway in the District through September 7, 2007.

Spring Forest Middle School – Gym Replacement Floor

A professional contract proposal has been received from the architect and will be finalized in the following week. Design, specifications, scope and drawings are complete. An alternate/add is included in the scope for bleachers due to their condition and the damage they will cause the new floor. The proposal opening will be September 20th, 2007. The contractor recommendation to the Board of Trustees will be October 29, 2007

Bendwood School – Roof Replacement and Remediation

This project is scheduled to be substantially complete by October 16, 2007.  The contractor currently has completed 45% of the roof area.  Work on the North wing roof was scheduled to begin on September 3, 2007 but has been delayed due to weather conditions.  The SPIRAL area has been repainted and new flooring completed on September 7, 2007, with move back on September 8, 2007 in time for new students on September 10, 2007.  A budget for the renovations necessary for the North wing will be presented to the October Board.

Pine Shadows Elementary – Emergency Plaster Soffit Removal

The restrooms are complete.
The metal replacement soffit is 65% complete and all work should be completed by September 7, 2007.

Valley Oaks Elementary– Roof Replacement

The roofer is 99% complete.  The punch list will be created on Friday, September 7th. 
The contractor is working on close-out documentation at this time.

Athletics – New Dressing Facilities/Offices Tully Stadium

The exterior concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls are 100% complete. The interior CMU walls are complete.  The concrete paving and the new 6”and 8” water lines are complete.  Split face block has started and are currently at 15% complete.  Roof fill was completed the week of August 17th and roof installation is at 20% complete.  The substantial completion date is December 15, 2007 with a final completion date of
December 29, 2007.

Spring Branch ISD Police Command Center

The project continues to be on schedule.  All paving is now complete, with the exception of sidewalks.  The exterior face brick is approximately 98% complete along with the glass block.  The interior block walls are complete and block fill painting is 75% complete. Electrical rough-in is complete and drywall cover-up is approximately 90% complete.  Furniture and fixtures from the Texas Department of Corrections is arriving and being stored at the Maintenance Warehouse.  SBISD Police alarm technicians have completed the installation of both the CCTV and security wiring.

The phone system has been approved by Technology Services and has been ordered by the general contractor.

Work on the old police building began the week of August 20 2007.  The contractor is going to install oil field mats so that they can gain better access.

Spark Park No. 17 -Meadow Wood Elementary

The frame work for the new pavilion has been installed and the entry portals are ready for finishing.  Work on the concrete seating and sundial has been delayed due to weather.  The project is scheduled to be completed prior to the City wide dedication of all SPARK parks in November. 

Spring Branch Education Center - Chiller Replacement Project

This project is substantially complete, waiting on final closeout documents.

Natatorium – Roof Replacement

A notice to proceed was issued on July 3, 2007 and a pre-construction meeting was held on July 9, 2007.  A meeting with Athletics is scheduled for September 11, 2007.  The contractor is to begin as soon as all issues with Athletics are addressed.

Don Coleman Coliseum – Roof Replacement

A preconstruction meeting was held the week of August 27th. 
A preconstruction meeting with Athletics will be scheduled in mid September.

Spring Branch Education Center – Roof Replacement of Single Ply Areas  

These areas are the Support Center, Competition Gym and Practice Gym. 
A preconstruction meeting was held the week of August 27th and work should begin the week of September 3rd. 
Work as scheduled has been delayed due to weather conditions.
