Grounds Maintenance

Structured to provide the following services

Athletic fields Campus Grounds Custodial Equipment  Repair Small Engine Repair Tree and Shrub Care

Maintaining Campus Grounds:

• General mowing is done on all campus grounds on a weekly rotation.
• Trim work and edging is done on a 15 day rotation.
• Athletic fields at all middle and senior high school campuses are cut twice a weekly
• Minor tree trimming is scheduled for the winter using SBISD grounds personnel.  When safety is an issue, major tree trimming or removal is scheduled using an approved contractor.

Campus Grounds Improvements:
 
It is recommended that any changes being considered to a campus landscaping, irrigation system or drainage system must be submitted to the Maintenance Department. The improvements requested can be checked for any interference with underground utilities or right of way, code compliance as well as any impact on renovation or construction plans. Plans can be submitted to Vinod Bahl or Albert Brown via email or inter-district mail.  SBISD works closely with several landscapers and general construction companies and can assist with any type of work needed.
