Thank you for visiting our
division's web page. My career started with
the Spring Branch ISD Maintenance Department
in 1975 as a helper in the HVAC division; by
the way that stands for Heating, Ventilation
and Air Conditioning. Over the years, SBISD
and I have gone through many changes together.
The division is comprised of the following
crafts, Mechanical (HVAC)
including but not limited to our Energy Management
System, Fire
alarms.
Mechanical
This craft is responsible for maintaining the
climate in all of our facilities whether it
is supplying air or exhausting air. It consists
of (6) mechanical / technical personnel, (1)
EMO (energy management system) operator. We
have a night shift consisting of (1) mechanical/
technical personnel. They open 85 comfort heating
boilers annually for inspection by the state.
We have operating in this district about 65,000
tons of air conditioning equipment daily and
are adding on yearly.
Our EMS operator runs diagnostics on the systems.
He provides technical information to the mechanical
/ technical personnel in the field to service
our customers.
Fire
Alarms
Of all the crafts in this division, Fire Alarms
is one of the most critical, it deals with life
safety. We have (2) fire alarm technicians who
maintain and repair all of the equipment. They
work with any new construction to insure coverage
and capability. We have over 8,000 fire alarm
components that are serviced in SBISD.
