During
the 2005-2006 school year, Spring Branch Independent
School District embarked on a strategic planning
initiative to develop a Five Year Strategic
Educational Plan and a Long Range Facilities
Plan that will chart the future of SBISD. A
Strategic Plan for Technology is also under
development.
Findings and Directions
The SBISD Visioning Team, a stakeholder
group comprised of administrators, teachers,
parents and community members, met throughout
the fall months and developed Findings and
Directions to be used as a planning resource
for these strategic initiatives. These Findings
and Directions were approved by the SBISD
Board of Trustees on March 27, 2006.
Strategic Goal Statements
The SBISD Board of Trustees has developed
seven strategic goals for the district that
were approved in draft form at the March 27,
2006 Board of Trustees Regular Meeting. The
community will have opportunities to provide
feedback on these goals in the coming months.
Strategic Planning Task Groups
Six strategic planning task groups are being
formed in the Spring of 2006 to develop annual
performance objectives for each of the Strategic
Goal Statements. These annual performance
objectives will then become the foundation
for the SBISD Five Year Strategic Educational
Plan.
Long Range Facilities
Planning Committee
In March, 2006, a stakeholder group comprised
of approximately 60 administrators, teachers,
parents and community members was formed to
develop a Long Range Facilities Plan for SBISD.
This group is meeting twice-monthly to develop
a strategic plan for the future of facilities
in SBISD.
