High School Art
Our high school program is one of the finest in the
state, offering students a variety of choices after Art I,
such as Sculpture, Drawing Painting, Photography, Ceramics,
AP Drawing, AP General, Printmaking, and Electronic Media.
Our students excel in all of their endeavors as they
learn from a vigorous curriculum based on the Texas
Essential Knowledge and Skills as well as the National
Standards. Students learn the basics of the elements and
principles of art in the Art I classes, then go on to learn
in depth skills at the advanced levels.
High school art students are given opportunities to
participate in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event, the
Rodeo,Show, the Spring Show, the Junior/ Senior Show, the
Administration Building Show, the Scholastic Competition,
and a number of other events.
AP students are often given one evening a week as a
studio night to expand their portfolios.
Our students consistently receive state and national
honors as well as numerous scholarships.
