Explores the elements and principles of design, drawing,
painting, printmaking, and sculpture; stimulates awareness
and appreciation of art.

Advanced Art I
9, 10, 11, 12. Credit: 1 unit
Explores the elements and principles of design, drawing,
painting, printmaking, and sculpture; stimulates awareness
and appreciation of art.
Prerequisites: Two or more years at the middle school
level; teacher recommendation.

Art AP-General Portfolio
10, 11, 12. Credit: 1 unit
A requirement of 42 works of art will be produced by
students using a variety of media. This is a rigorous course
of study that culminates with the presentation of the
portfolio. Students may purchase some supplies.
Prerequisites: Art I & II or Advanced Art I; teacher
recommendation.

Art AP-Drawing Portfolio
10, 11, 12. Credit: 1 unit
Specific course of study that specializes in drawing
curriculum. This is an intense college-level course on
technique and skill. A portfolio of 42 pieces will be
required. Students may purchase some supplies.
Prerequisites: Art I & II or Advanced Art I; teacher
recommendation.

Drawing II-IV
10, 11, 12. Credit: 1-3 units
Skills and a personal expressive style or form will be
developed while using a variety of drawing media and the
elements and principles of art.
Prerequisites: Art I; teacher recommendation.

Electronic Media II-IV
10, 11, 12. Credit: 1-3 units
These courses are designed for the advanced art student
that has a working knowledge of the elements and principles
of art. Students will use computers and other technology to
create a variety of works in art.
Prerequisites: Art I; teacher recommendation.

Painting II-IV
10, 11, 12. Credit: 1-3 units
Skills and a personal expressive style or form will be
developed while using a variety of painting media and the
elements and principles of art.
Prerequisites: Art I; teacher recommendation.

Printmaking II-IV
10, 11, 12. Credit: 1-3 units
The basic types of printmaking will be used to explore a
combination of processes using the elements and principles
of art.
Prerequisites: Art I; teacher recommendation.

Sculpture II-IV

The basic types of sculpture will be used to explore a
combination of processes using the elements and principles
of art.
