Art Recognition from the
March 24, 2008 Board Meeting

Spring Branch ISD has a long and proud history of achievement in the arts. March is Youth Art Month across the nation and has been proclaimed as such in Texas by Governor Rick Perry. In recognition of this event, a committee from the Texas Art Education Association selected 100 works from 300 entries for public display at the State Capitol. Four works of the exhibit were created by Spring Branch students:

• Patrick Schulte, Wilchester Elementary, teacher Nancy Perkins
• Armando Guerra, Spring Branch Middle, teacher Suzanne Greene
• Alan Cortez, Thornwood Elementary, teacher Lee Darter
• Victor Lopez, Edgewood Elementary, teacher Shannon Benton

Also honored were the Best of Show winners at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo:

• Sofia Hernandez, Buffalo Creek Elementary, teacher Natalie Waggenspack
• Jennifer Fan, Memorial Middle, teacher Lynn Ludlam
• Danna Lim, Memorial High School, teacher Cathleen May
