Counseling and Guidance

The Bilingual/ESL
Secondary Counseling and Guidance Program:

• Supports the efforts of secondary counselors in promoting the educational, career, personal, and social development of Bilingual/ESL students.

• Assists Bilingual/ESL students with personal planning, transition activities, and goal setting.

• Provides counseling to bilingual/ESL students individually or in group setting.

• Assists families of the Bilingual/ESL students with post-secondary planning, e.g., process, applications, testing requirements, etc.

• Assists with interviews with students and parents at the Welcome Center at the onset of semesters and assist with the transition to SBISD.

• Assists in the evaluation of transcripts from other countries.
  
• Assists with communication between parents and counselors to better serve the needs of the student.
