The mentoring program at Gear UP campuses targets students from the GEAR UP cohort who have expressed a desire for a mentor and were selected through an application process. This outstanding program goes far beyond the typical mentorship with each Mentor agreeing to the following:

  • A commitment of one year
  • Attend a mandatory mentoring training session
  • Attend two mentor mixers
  • Attend a pairing event
  • Attend a Parent/Student/Mentor dinner
  • Meet weekly at the student's campus
  • Attend special events during the school year such as a holiday dinner
