Goal Statements For Gifted and Talented Program Curriculum

Content will integrate and introduce new disciplines within the basic subject areas. Units of study will be complex in content and skills. Opportunity will be provided for some topics of study to be self-selected according to interests, needs, and abilities. Emphasis will be on broad themes and generalizations supported by facts. Higher level thinking skills of Critical Thinking, Creativity, Problem Solving, and Logic will be developed. Research skills will be taught to foster communication. Product development skills will be taught to foster communication. Life skills will be taught to foster effective personal development. Characteristics of gifted individuals will be taught to foster self-understanding. Affective learning experiences will be designed to address the needs to students.
