TESTING

There are a variety of tests to take during high school. Some measure whether you have the knowledge needed for graduation. Testing will help you know whether you are prepared for college and where you may need to study harder. Click on the sections below to learn about the most common tests.
High School Tests measuring Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • TEKS/TAKS Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills/Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills

High School Pre-SAT and Pre-ACT testing

College Admissions  and Placement Testing

  • SAT
  • ACT
  • THEA Texas Higher Education Assessment and/or CSI

Testing  for college and/or university credit

  • AP Exams Advanced Placement Program (taken while in high school)
  • CLEP College Level Examination Program (taken at the college or university)
