Our public relations committee works with new community
agencies to inform them of all the activities that are
provided. The association supports families and
individuals from the community.
Members
of the Spring Branch ISD Health Fitness Teachers Association
board welcomed their new coordinator, Rebecca Fuchs on
July 28 at the home Beth Brown. Pictured above are front
row: Secretary, Debbie Moore; Rebecca Fuchs; Elementary
liaison and Wilchester health fitness teacher, Anne Daily.
Second Row: Treasurer and Memorial Drive Elementary
Health Fitness teacher, Kate Stoll; President and Ridgecrest
Health Fitness teacher, Terri Murphy; President Elect and
Adapted Health Fitness teacher, Beth Brown; and Elementary
Vice President and Westwood Health Fitness teacher, Chloe
Suk. Each teacher brought one vegetable and one fruit to
chop up for their healthy lunch as they planned activities
for the year. The group promotes healthy lifestyles through
community activities and sharing what they learn through
professional development. Some of last year’s activities
were conferences and work shops, a fun run, a bike safety
course, a relief dinner and activity night for Katrina
and Rita evacuees, volunteer opportunities for Special
Olympics, plus, March of Dimes and Hoops for Heart fundraisers.
For the 2006-2007 year, new events the board is looking
in to include a program called Marathon Kids and an inservice
in Latin aerobics.
