About the Childcare Center
- The SBISD Childcare Center is
licensed under the regulations of the Texas Department
of Protective and Regulatory Services, Day Care
Licensing Division and the Board of Trustees of
SBISD. It is a self-sustaining program that is tuition-based.
-
- Mission
- The mission of the Childcare
Center is to provide a positive learning experience
for all students. In order to accomplish this we
strive to maintain a close relationship between
school and home. Formal parent conferences are held
twice a year. Parents are encouraged to contact
the teacher or manager whenever the need arises.
-
- Lab School Program
- SBISD high school students enrolled in the Pre-Laboratory
Childcare course visit the center daily with their instructors
for actual experiences with young children. This prepares them
for careers in child care, teaching, and related fields.
-
- Inclusion
- Children in the Childcare Center
share learning experiences with the students in
the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities
located at The Bendwood School. They interact in
a variety of ways including music, motor development
and special events.
-
- Parent Advisory Council
- All parents are invited to become active members of our Parent
Advisory Council (PAC). The committee meets monthly on the
2nd Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in the Bendwood library to discuss
special events and fund raising ideas.
-
- Registration
- Registration begins March 22nd and continues until all spaces
are filled. Parents may visit the center and pick up a registration
packet. The completed packet and the registration fee reserve
a place for your child.
-
- Tuition
- The SBISD Childcare Center is a self-sustaining
program supported by tuition. Tuition is collected bi-monthly.
