The SBISD Childcare Centers are licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services under Childcare Licensing Department and the SBISD Board of Trustees.  All childcare centers are self-sustaining programs that are tuition based.

The mission of the childcare centers is to provide a positive, nurturing, caring environment where children can grow physically, emotionally and cognitively.  In order to accomplish this all centers strive to maintain a close relationship between school and home.  Parents are encouraged to interact with teachers and the center manager daily.

Children in the childcare centers share learning experiences with students in the PPCD program, Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities.  They interact in a variety of ways; gross motor, music, outside time, cooking lessons and center play. 

All parents are encouraged to become active members of our Parent Advisory Council (PAC).  This team meets monthly to discuss upcoming events, fundraising, and ways to support the children.  Each childcare center sets up the monthly meetings.

In house registration begins the second Monday of February.  Enrolled parents that wish to transfer to another childcare center may register for that center the last Monday of February.  Open registration for all district employees is the Monday after Spring Break.  A SBISD employee or retiree’s relative; grandchild, niece or nephew, may register August 1st if space is available.

Yearly registration fee is $75.00 per child, non-refundable.

Tuition is collected bi-monthly on the 1st and 16th. All district employees are required to sign up for payroll deduction each year.  Forms will be in back to school packets.

Tuition includes breakfast, lunch and snacks.
 
All centers follow the certified teacher calendar. All centers are open for
In-service days.  Breakfast is provided on In-service days, but children need a sack lunch.  The cafeterias are not open.
