Statement
Arts Partners - Spring Branch will
eventually provide all 30,000 students in grades one through
twelve with arts experiences tied to existing curriculum.
The project's mission is to utilize school and community
resources efficiently and effectively to enrich the lives of
all students in a culturally and economically diverse
community.
Educational Goals are to:
- Narrow the gap between advantaged
and disadvantaged students by offering all students
common life-enriching experiences
- Promote mutual acceptance among
students of cultural diversity through multi-cultural
arts experiences
- Increase student achievement in
all subject areas through interdisciplinary planning and
other innovative teaching strategies
- Expose students to cultural
opportunities in their community which can enhance their
quality of life as future members of society.
Project Goals are to:
- Provide a vehicle for interaction
through which educators and community leaders together
identify needs of students and cooperate in addressing
those needs
- Enhance opportunities for various
organizations and businesses to work together with the
Spring Branch School District to offer an ongoing
sequential program of arts experiences to students and
establish a permanent financial support base
Encourage schools across the district
to work together within a restructured environment balancing
the need to be autonomous with the need to take advantage of
the vast resources that the Houston metropolitan area has to
offer.
