on the SBISD District Improvement Team (DIT)
and as parent, community and business representatives
on each school’s Campus Improvement
Teams (CIT).
A lottery will be held soon for DIT parent
representative positions. For more information
about CIT openings, please contact SBISD
campuses or district administrators.
District Improvement Team (DIT)
needs new members:
What is the DIT?
The DIT is composed of certified campus
professionals, district-level staff, parents
of students enrolled in the SBISD schools,
community members and business representatives.
As defined by Texas law, the DIT advises
the Superintendent of Schools in many areas,
such as planning, staff patterns, budgeting,
staff development, curriculum and school
organization.
Parent Representatives Lottery
The DIT has three positions open for Parent
Representatives for the 2008-09 school year.
There are two positions for Group 1 and
one position for Group 2. All nomination
forms must be completed and submitted to
Administrative Assistant Carlton Sands in
the SBISD Administration Building, 955 Campbell
Road, Room 128, by Feb. 25, 2008. For each
position, parent representatives are selected
by lottery.
Certified Teaching/Certified,
Non-Teaching Representative Election
The DIT has 10 positions open for Certified
Teaching/Certified, Non-Teaching Representatives
for the 2008-09 school year. A certified
teaching representative is anyone who teaches
students in a classroom setting. Non-teaching
representatives include assistant principals,
counselors, librarians, and nurses.
Nomination forms must be completed and
submitted to Administrative Assistant Carlton

955 Campbell Road, Room 128, by Feb. 7,
2008.
