The 2008-2010 SBISD Calendar Committee has begun developing recommendations for SBISD Superintendent Duncan Klussmann regarding the 2008-09 and 2009-2010 school year calendars. The committee would like to hear from you!

Please share your thoughts by emailing the committee at calendar@springbranchisd.com or attend the SBISD Calendar Public Forum on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. in Board Room of the SBISD Administration Building.

Your responses will be considered along with the SBISD Board of Trustees Calendar Parameters, surrounding district calendars, college schedules and other aspects of the calendar development process.

Two draft calendars for each year will then be finalized and posted on the SBISD website between Oct. 15 and Oct. 31. During this two-week period, parents, staff and the community are encouraged to vote for their preferred calendar. The Calendar Committee will review the results of the online survey and make final recommendations to Dr. Klussmann, Superintendent of Schools, in November.

The committee's ultimate charge is to recommend an instructionally sound calendar that best meets the academic needs of SBISD’s 32,000 students.
