Spring Branch ISD News Update

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6, for SBISD’s Bond Issue

Eligible district voters may cast ballots on the 2007 Spring Branch ISD Bond Proposition from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Harris County joint election sites.

Unlike past elections, Harris County joint election polling locations will be used rather than SBISD elementary schools where district elections occur.

Twenty-one SBISD campuses, however, are among 39 Harris County polling sites for the Spring Branch area on Election Day. In all, SBISD includes 46 precincts, some of which are combined for this election.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6, for SBISD’s Bond IssueWhile many of our elementary schools are also county joint polling sites, some voters who have voted at an elementary school for previous district elections may not vote at that same location for this Tuesday’s election. Thirteen district elementary schools are NOT sites for this election.

For this reason, eligible voters should take time to familiarize themselves ahead of time with the polling location for their particular precinct.

For help, please contact:

  • SBISD Elections contact person Diane Dickens at 713-464-1511, ext. 2217, for factual information about polling locations, voting times, or street address and precinct number;
  • Harris County Voter Registration at 713-368-2000 to determine if residents are registered to vote or to find their precinct number;
  • Or visit www.hcvoter.net and click on the Voter Registration link on the left side of the browser screen to search the voter database for precinct number.

SBISD’s $597.1 million bond proposal would replace some of the district’s oldest elementary campuses, build additional classrooms, and upgrade existing safety and security systems, classroom technology, bus transportation and athletics across the district.
