than 70 Spring Branch educators and teacher
teams have earned 52 J. Landon Short Mini-Grants
sponsored by the Spring Branch Education
Foundation, the McNair Foundation and several
more community sponsors. The grants, valued
at up to $500, will support special classroom
projects ranging from hands-on science
experiments to student-scripted podcasts.

The $500 grant program
is open to all SBISD educators with applications
accepted each fall. The program has been
endowed in perpetuity, thanks to the generosity
of The Robert & Janice McNair Foundation.
The program is named in memory of Landon
Short, SBISD PARTNERS IN EDUCATION founding
board member, who passed away July 29, 1999.
