SBISD Volunteer Advisory Board Overview

Recognizing that the success of volunteer programs lies with each campus, the SBISD Volunteer Advisory Board will provide oversight and recommendations for continual improvement of SBISD volunteer programs in alignment with the SBISD Five Year Educational Plan and individual Campus Improvement Plans. The Volunteer Advisory Board will:

• Map/maintain the organization and structure for existing programs district-wide
• Assess by campus the engagement of volunteers and their impact on student achievement and success
• Ensure that each campus has measurable goals and objectives for each campus volunteer program
• Ensure that each campus annually measures and reports progress to stakeholders
• Identify campus and district needs and match volunteers with needs
• Advocate and build support for SBISD volunteer programs through school board meetings, district and community events and a defined marketing plan
• Inform SBISD leadership of the principles of effective volunteer programs and enlist their support
• Develop marketing and sustainability plans to assure the long-term success and growth of identified programs
• Work with the Superintendent to assure that volunteer programs continue to be included and funded in the SBISD Five Year Educational Plan
