2. How do I apply?

4. How do I apply for additional
positions after initial application?
- Go back to your online application. The link to
the online application can be found at the end of
these instructions.
- To login, click on "Have you already applied? Click
here to login." and enter your User ID and password.
- Click on the Employment Preferences link on the
left menu and add position(s) desired. Make sure you
click the 'Continue' button at the bottom of the page.

5. How long will my application
remain on file?
An application will remain on file for two years. It
will be active for one year from October 1. Be sure
to update information such as change in experience,
education or personal information.

6. How do I update information
in my file?
Follow the steps below to make any changes or additions
to your online certified application.
- Go back to your online application. The link to
the online application can be found at the end of
these instructions.
- To login, click on "Have you already applied? Click
here to login." and enter your User ID and password.
- Click on the link(s) on the left menu and make your
changes. Make sure you click the 'Continue' button
at the bottom of the page.

7. How can I find out the location
of the openings?
We do not reveal the location of the opening. The principal/department
head will review applications and if selected you will
be contacted for an interview.

8. How will I know if a position
has been filled?
Only offers for employment from the Human Resources
office to the applicant are valid offers. You will be
called by Human Resources if you are to receive an offer
of employment. Applicants that are not selected are
not notified.

9. How can I most accurately
report my certification?
You may visit the State Board for Educator Certification
(SBEC) at the following link: http://www.sbec.state.tx.us/SBECOnline/default.asp.

10. How do I report my lifetime
certification?
In the Certification Licensure section of the application,
if you hold a Lifetime Certficate, leave the Expire
Date field blank. DO NOT enter Lifetime.

11. If I am enrolled in an ACP,
when should I apply?
If an Alternative Certification Program (ACP) participant,
you must have completed the Pre-internship training
which includes observation, coursework and content area
tests (ExCet/TExES).

12. If I am enrolled in an ACP,
what type of certification "type"; should I list?
Please select Probationary.

13. What should I list as my
certification if I am still student teaching?
New graduates should list their certification type
as "Pending".

14. How can I check the status
of my application?
- Once you have met the position qualifications, your
background check will be processed. When your background
check is clear, your application will be activated
in the system.
- All principals/department head will have access
to view your application. For each position, applications
will be screened and the most qualified applicants
will be called for interviews. Education, experience,
position qualifications and personal references are
among the criteria that will be considered.
- If you are not selected for the position in which
you applied for, you may apply for other job vacancies
by updating your online application.
- You can check your application status by following
the steps below:
- Log into the online application.

Application Status' link at the bottom
of the page to view what documents are on file
(resume, transcripts, letter of interest), reference
status and application status.

15. Application Instructions
Thank you for applying with Spring Branch ISD. We want
this to be a positive experience for you. Please take
a few moments to review the instructions prior to completing
your application.
INSTRUCTIONS
The application is best viewed using Netscape
4.5 or higher or MS
Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. You may want
to reduce the size of your browser's font to allow more
of the application to be visible on your screen.
You will be asked for the following specific information
to complete the application. Have the following available
for reference:
-Certification Information
(To verify certification, go to State
Board for Educator Certification - SBEC).
-Colleges/Universities
attended, graduation date, degree earned and
major subject.
-From/To dates of
teaching, student teaching and non-teaching
experience,
name of organization/school/university, name of
supervisor/principal
and contact phone number.
-References
including names, addresses, email addresses and phone
numbers.
-Copy of Transcript(s)
(mail/fax/upload to online application a copy to Human
Resources)
TIPS FOR ONLINE APPLICATION
Certain fields have been identified with an asterisk
(*). These fields are required and you will not be allowed
to submit your application unless these fields are completed.
You will also need to press the TAB key to move
from field to field. DO NOT press the enter key.
When entering phone numbers, only input the numbers.
DO NOT try to enter dashes, hyphens or parentheses.
When entering dates, follow the format indicated, i.e.,
(MM/DD/YYYY) equals 05/30/2004.
When you have completed a page, click on the CONTINUE
button on the bottom of the page to save your information
and move to the next page.
When you have completed the application you will be
able to print a hard copy for your records.
It is anticipated that the application process will
take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Once you have submitted your application you will receive
the message, "Your application has been successfully
submitted. Thank you for applying with Spring Branch
ISD." If you have provided a valid e-mail address, an
e-mail will be sent to that address confirming the receipt
of your application.
Any falsification of records will disqualify you from
consideration for employment with Spring Branch Independent
