Thirty-two students from Spring Woods High School got in the act to help make the Crystal Awards Gala a success. The students, all members of Woods, INC (WINC), the school’s Junior Achievement chapter, worked with advisor Estie Cuellar to make table centerpieces for the event.
Building on the evening’s theme, “An Evening to Honor Teachers, Our Gulf Coast Gems,” the students built 60 lamps, all in a nautical theme. From lighthouses to ships in a bottle, the lamps added a decorative flair to each table. The centerpieces were purchased by Gala attendees, contributing to the event’s proceeds.
This creative partnership between students and Gala organizers is just one way the Spring Branch Education Foundation strives to enhance students’ educational experience.
Junior Achievement is a youth organization which aims to assist students in the transition from school to business. It teaches students basic business principles and how businesses operate in a market economy.
