Support
the Arts in Your Sleep
The Spring Branch Education Foundation also offers a “Saturday Sleep-In” sponsorship option for those who believe that all first- through eighth-grade students in Spring Branch should enjoy field trips to the city’s leading cultural arts performance, but are not able to be present for the annual 5K Run/Walk.
A $50 personal donation allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds. The donation will go directly to student field trips for fine arts performances, and your child’s school will also earn credit for the Highest School Participation Contest. Sponsors will also receive four official 2008 Running for the Arts t-shirts.”

Message
from Rusty Hess
Director of Performing and Fine
Arts
Running for the Arts is just around
the corner! It is our annual big event at
Memorial City Mall that, in conjunction with the
Spring Branch ISD Arts Partners, raises funds
for our SBISD Performing and Fine Arts Department. With
this help, the SBISD is able to send our kids from
1st grade through 8th grade to major arts venues
in Houston. The kids visit museums as well
as enjoy professional performances of the Houston
Symphony, the Houston Grand Opera, the Houston Ballet,
the Society for the Performing Arts, and "Christmas
Carol" at the Alley Theater. The Running for
the Arts event would not be possible without the
wonderful support of Ms. Sherry Burton, Marketing
Director of Memorial City Mall, and her staff. There
will also be an art auction that features art from
our students in SBISD. You will be amazed
at the talent! Feel welcome to support our
art programs by bidding on these wonderful
pieces! So, put on your running shoes and
come be part of this exciting day! Or just
come watch. Either way will be enjoyable for
you! |
