    • Trustees voted unanimously (7-0) to reduce the district tax rate from $1.3043 to $1.2688. This is a reduction of 3.55 cents and represents the lowest SBISD tax rate since 2007-08.

  • Recognition of #IAMSBISD Award Recipient View agenda item 4A│View video item 4
    • Officer Luis Yurnet from the SBISD police department was recognized with the I AM SBISD Award, which honors employees who have gone above and beyond in living the district's Core Values. Sarah Salas, Sherwood Elementary principal, spoke about Yurnet stepping up to connect with and help Emanuel, a pre-K student who did not speak English and was having trouble adjusting at school. 

 

 

  • Presentation of Spring Branch Education Foundation Gifts to the District View agenda item 4B│View video item 4
    • Spring Branch Education Foundation (SBEF) chair Joe Elliott and Cece Thompson, SBEF executive director, presented a $1.6 million check to the district. SBEF has gifted more than $1 million to SBISD for the eighth consecutive year. Through programs like Project School Supplies, which provides economically disadvantaged students with the right tools to foster success and the annual SBEF Gala, which raises funds for grants and scholarships, SBEF helps fund programs that enhance students' educational experience and support the district's T-2-4 vision. 

 

 

  • Recognition of Award Earned by the SBISD Financial Services Division View agenda item 4C│View video item 4
    • The SBISD Financial Services division was presented with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Report for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. The recognition is given by the Government Finance Officers Association and is the highest award for government accounting and financial reporting.
