Additional information for families

On December 11, 2023, the SBISD Board of Trustees adopted a resolution calling for the dissolution of the SKY Partnership beginning with the 2024-25 school year as part of the district’s actions to close a $35 million budget shortfall.

The SKY Partnership, a three-way collaboration between Spring Branch ISD, KIPP Houston Public Schools (KIPP), and YES Prep Public Schools (YES), launched in 2012 as an expanded choice option for SBISD families. Via the district’s Choice lottery, SBISD families could apply for their middle school students to be served at KIPP Courage at Landrum Middle School (grades 5-8), or YES Prep at Northbrook Middle School (grades 6-8). YES provides the high school program at Northbrook High School.
