Why did we change our department name?
New characters head back to class with department rebrand
Spring Branch ISD Child Nutrition Services (CNS) introduced a new logo, tagline, and name for the department today. CNS will now be called School Nutrition Services (SNS).
While the name has changed, the department of School Nutrition Services will continue to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals to the over 39,000 plus students and employees of SBISD. The new brand aims to create endless possibilities and connect with customers in new, fresh ways.
The most visible change is the department's new logo and brand characters. "Our department didn't have a logo before," said Director of School Nutrition Services Michael Francis. "We had a name but no way to connect with our customers and personalize that experience. School Nutrition nationwide has evolved. We want our brand to reflect that."
The new logo includes a fresh design and colors aligned with long-established district branding. It also features a few new faces in the form of fun, food-based characters.
"Having the character element of the branding was important," said Francis. Our customer’s experiences are vital to the success of our program. We wanted to make sure we could connect with students and embody the heart and soul of what makes school essential to student health and academic success."
Customers will also notice a new tagline, "Feeding Inspiration," which ties to the district brand of "Inspiring Minds and Shaping Lives," and the department's readiness to support SBISD's T-2-4 vision.
Information on the rebrand will be included in back-to-school communication. A new section about the rebrand will also be featured on the CNS site in July. A complete replacement of the current CNS website is scheduled for later this fall.
While the name and look have changed, Director Francis is confident that customers will continue to enjoy his department's service. School meals play a large role in our student’s well-being and their readiness to learn.
