Mission Statement
“To protect and support every student, staff member, and visitor by providing a comprehensive, compassionate, and proactive approach to campus safety—one that values prevention as much as response, relationships as much as rules, and the well-being of our school communities above all else.”
SBISD Police Department Culture Message
From First Bell to Final Dismissal—We’re Here.
The mission of the Spring Branch Independent School District Police Department is to protect the safety and welfare of all persons and district property across every SBISD facility. Established in 1987 as one of the first ISD police departments in Texas, we proudly provide 24/7, 365-day law enforcement and security coverage to over 50 campuses and facilities.
But our mission has grown.
Today, safety means more than securing doors and responding to emergencies. It means building trust with students, collaborating with educators, and stepping into the daily life of our schools—not just when something goes wrong, but so things go right.
We no longer draw hard lines between “external threats” and “internal behavior.” We believe every facet of campus life deserves care, protection, and structure. Whether it’s a behavior issue in a hallway or an unlocked door after hours, we treat it with the same seriousness—because both can impact the learning environment and student success.
We are stewards of safety. We are educators in support. We are visible, approachable, and deeply embedded in the fabric of SBISD. Our culture is one of vigilance with compassion, enforcement with understanding, and consistency with care.
We do not just respond—we belong.
