The Vanguard Fellowship
Through The Vanguard Fellowship, SBISD has created a professional development model that provides teachers opportunities to grow, assume new responsibilities and lead innovation in the classroom, all while receiving recognition for their efforts. SBISD believes it's important to provide teachers with professional development that models effective digital learning environments and coaching educators on the design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences positively impacts student achievement. The Vanguard Fellowship is one way we're doing that.
SBISD seeks innovative SBISD classroom teachers who are using technology in transformational ways that support learning for all students. Our Vanguard educators are:
- committed to learning new strategies and reflecting on their practice openly with peers;
- sharing their classroom learning environment with fellow educators in and out of Spring Branch;
- modeling high quality learning practices where technology is a tool to empower student learning and achievement;
- coaching fellow teachers with open, collaborative practices and partnering with them in making their transformation.
SBISD offers educators and their teams ways to extends their reach to more students, for more pay, through a new and innovative staffing framework known as Opportunity Culture (OC) Texas. In Opportunity Culture (OC) Texas in SBISD, a team of teachers and administrators choose among several models that use job-position redesign and age-appropriate technologies to reach more students while also personalizing high-standard, academic instruction.
