Early Voting Begins

April 29 - May 7

Residents can cast their votes starting Monday for the May 11 board election. One of three seats on the Spring Branch ISD Board of Trustees will be contested in the May 11 district election for School Board. Competing for Trustee Position 7 are attorney Karen Peck and Exxon retiree John Buchanan.

Both candidates are seeking the vacancy created by Mike Falick, who is not seeking re-election after serving three Board terms.


Teacher Meet & Greet

Join us on Thursday, May 2 as SBISD's Human Resources Department hosts a Teacher Meet & Greet at Don Coleman Community Coliseum.

This event is a opportunity for teachers (classroom, special education, counselors and librarians) interested in Spring Branch ISD to meet with Spring Branch Administrators and/or Campus Representatives.

Summer School 2013

Who says summer has to be boring?
As we apporoach the end of another great year in SBISD, we're already gearing up for our summer course offerings.

Spring Branch ISD offers a wide range of summer courses for students of every age. Programs are designed for students who need additional support in achieving their educational plans, as well as students seeking academic enrichment during the summer months.

Teacher of the Year Finalists

Six educators were recently named as Spring Branch ISD Teacher of the Year finalists.

One finalist will be named Elementary Teacher of the Year; the other will be the new Secondary Teacher of the Year.

Winners will be announced soon at the annual Employee Service Awards celebration.

SKY Meets Goals

With almost all participating students returning and a waiting list for next year, SBISD's SKY Partnership is achieving its mission to offer more choices, reach more students and fill underused campuses in Spring Branch. SBISD is one of seven communities that received funding from the Gates Foundation to support collaborations between traditional districts and public charter schools.

Debate Students Go to Nationals

Six members of the Spring Woods High School Debate Team have qualified for an upcoming national tournament where the group’s Top 10 Texas standing will get a workout from other trained student speakers.

The national tournament will be held in Birmingham, Ala., in early June.

SHS Orchestra students plan to break the traditional orchestra mold with their upcoming “Electrify Your Strings” rock concert on April 30th at Coleman Coliseum. Read more >>

GenTX College T-shirt Day is May 3.

Imagine if every person across Texas wears a college T-shirt on GenTX Day on May 3rd. Students will see people all around them united in their belief in higher education.
