Since 2004, the Spring Branch ISD Dictionary Project seeks community sponsors to put a dictionary in the hand of every 3rd grader in SBISD. Students not only receive this tool to support life-long learning, but benefit from a presentation about how and why dictionaries are such a valuable learning resource!
Why Dictionaries?
In an age where a dictionary can be at your fingertips in seconds, we maintain that a physical dictionary is one of the best gifts a child can receive in 3rd grade.
A dictionary is a tool students will use through their entire educational journey, and for many, it may be the very first book they call their own.
