Since 2004, the Spring Branch ISD Dictionary Project seeks community sponsors to put a dictionary in the hand of every 3rd grader in SBISD. Students not only receive this tool to support life-long learning, but benefit from a presentation about how and why dictionaries are such a valuable learning resource!

Why Dictionaries?

In an age where a dictionary can be at your fingertips in seconds, we maintain that a physical dictionary is one of the best gifts a child can receive in 3rd grade.

It is a tool they can and will use through their entire educational journey, and for many, it may be the very first book they call their own.

While our sponsors could not present the dictionaries in person during 20-21, they still graciously provided them to our students and many created videos showing how to use them!
