Join us for SBEF's Running for the Arts Run/Walk!

Spring Branch Education Foundation (SBEF) will sponsor the annual 5K Running for the Arts Run/Walk on Saturday, May 2, at Memorial City Mall outside JC Penney. Newspring Art Auction

Spring Branch ISD student artists will display their works for sale during the annual Newspring Art Auction, which will be held on Thursday, April 30. The Newspring Art Studio gives young artists a venue to learn art and art-related skills while providing funds for these deserving students to continue their education through community art purchases.

Student Artwork Honored

The Board of Trustees honored district art students during its April 27 regular monthly meeting. In all, 49 artists were honored for winning a variety of regional, state and national awards and scholarships. These students are being honored for awards that range from Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to regional and national Scholastic awards.

Memorial High Student Earns Mayor’s Art Scholarship

A Memorial High School senior has placed first in the Houston Arts Partners sponsored Mayor’s Art Scholarship competition. Anna Cho has won a $1,000  scholarship. She will attend the Studio Art Program in fine arts at New York University this fall.

Spring Woods HS Junior Wins Scholastic Art Award

Spring Woods HS junior Daniel Hernandez was one of 39 Harris County students and among only 1,946 students nationwide to win top national honors in the 2015 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Hernandez won a Silver Medal in the Drawing and Illustration category.

Stratford Presents Hitchcock’s 39 Steps

CIS "Stay in School" Gala Honors Duncan and Marissa

Spring Branch ISD’s Superintendent of Schools Duncan Klussmann and his wife, Marissa, were honored April 17 by Communities in Schools during the nonprofit group’s annual “Stay in School” fund-raising gala. The Klussmanns received the organization’s Community Advocate Award for their combined efforts.

Valedictorians & Salutatorians Announced

Spring Branch ISD’s five high schools announced valedictorians and salutatorians for the graduating Class of 2015 recently. Four SBISD campuses will host their graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 30, and one high school will conduct graduation on Monday, June 1, in the evening.

Board of Trustees Early Voting
icon April 27-May 5

Early voting by personal appearance began on Monday, April 27, for two contested positions on the Spring Branch ISD Board of Trustees. Early voting will continue through May 5. Election Day voting will be held Saturday, May 9.
