Counselors

What services do counselors provide?

Professional School Counselors are available at SBISD schools to provide a Comprehensive Developmental Guidance Program and services for all students in the areas of:

Academic Counseling

Our Professional School Counselors meet with students to understand their individual needs.  Counselors work diligently on tasks such as course selection, schedule modification, credit acquisition and review, teacher conflict, and class performance.

Social & Emotional Counseling

Social counseling includes helping students deal with everything from anger issues and bullying to death of a loved one. While our Professional School Counselors aren't intended to be mental health therapists with on-going caseloads, they can be very effective in short-term counseling.

College + Career Counseling (Spring Branch T-2-4)

College counseling requires researching and learning about prospective careers and colleges for our students. Professional School Counselors offer advice based upon students needs, interests, and career goals.  Guidance is offered from the start of career exploration to the application process of college.

Please visit the SBISD Counseling Services page under DEPARTMENTS for more information.

Students are welcome to stop by their counselor's office for anything they need to discuss.  Visit our school's website to learn more about your school counselor and the services they offer.
