What is the application process for Opportunity Culture positions?
All interested applicants must submit a written application—including a resume and cover letter, student data demonstrating prior excellence, teacher evaluation ratings, short-answer response and principal recommendation.
Selected candidates will complete an in-person interview and may also be asked to participate in optional activities at the principal’s discretion, such as modeling a lesson and/or facilitating a PLC meeting.
Which SBISD schools will have Opportunity Culture roles available?
SBISD schools that are participating in Opportunity Culture Texas in the school year include Spring Woods high school, Landrum, Northbrook and Spring Forest middle schools, and Bunker Hill, Cedar Brook, Pine Shadows, Shadow Oaks, Sherwood, Spring Branch, Spring Shadows, Terrace, Westwood, Westview, Buffalo Creek, Hollibrook and Housman elementary schools, and the PreK Schools for Early Learning.

Can anyone apply for these positions?
Any certified teacher with the required years of experience and a rating of Effective or higher for the last 1–2 years can apply for any of the positions. Candidates do not need to currently be in a teaching position.
Do I have to be a current employee of any of the pilot schools or an employee with SBISD to apply?
Candidates do not need to be a current employee at any of the current Opportunity Culture schools, nor an employee with SBISD, to apply.
