SBISD Employee Childcare

Who may attend/enroll?

Children of full-time employees, ages 6 weeks – 4 years old, are eligible to enroll following the timeline below. Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis and each center maintains a wait list throughout the school year.  Employees wishing to sponsor children of relatives who are not currently participating in childcare will have an opportunity to register in August based on openings remaining at each center.

  • Monday, February 23 – Re-enrollment for CURRENT families utilizing employee childcare
  • Monday, March 2 – Transfer window: CURRENT families who wish to move to another employee childcare location next year if space is available.
  • Monday, March 16- Open enrollment for NEW families

Registration

Employees should contact the childcare manager at their preferred location to register or get on the waitlist. There is a $100.00 non-refundable registration fee payable to secure a spot at the time of registration. Check, money order, or payment through MySchoolBucks is accepted.

Tuition is collected bi-monthly on the 1st and 16th. District employees are required to sign up for payroll deduction each year. There are two options of payroll deduction (19 or 24 payments) to cover the cost of tuition.

Tuition

Tuition is based on the age of the child, as of September 1, and remains the same the entire year. Parents of students who are old enough to receive school lunches may opt into the school meal program each year.

Meal service will not be available on staff development or teacher workdays during the school year (August, October, January, February, and May) as SNS staff will be in training. Children who regularly eat the school meal will need to bring a meal from home on these days. Daily tuition rates reflect the days that meals are provided.  (176 days with meal + 12 days without meal = annual tuition / 188 days total)

Participation in the childcare program is a yearly commitment. Full tuition is due even if a child is absent due to holidays, illnesses, vacations, emergency closures, or ordered closure of a classroom or center.

Full tuition is also due to hold your child’s spot while expecting.

Registration timeline

February 23, 2026 - February 27, 2026
Window open for currently enrolled families to register. Parents will receive information and instructions from their childcare center.

March 2, 2026 – March 6, 2026
Transfer window- Parents who would like to transfer to a different location must contact the new center to inquire if space is available and register.

March 16, 2026
Open Registration begins for all SBISD employees
