Throughout the summer, Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) educators submitted 67 J. Landon Short Mini Grants for Educators applications to request funding for innovative ideas to benefit students! Each application was reviewed by at least two members of a committee comprised of district staff, partners, and program sponsors, using a blind judging process.
Recently, the 44 highest-scoring Mini Grant winners were surprised with award announcements at 27 schools across the district. Each received a certificate of recognition, and more importantly, the funds to make their ideas a reality!
For 32 years, SBISD has conducted the Mini Grants for Educators program. More than 20 years ago, the Robert and Janice McNair Foundation created a permanent program endowment in memory of J. Landon Short, a lifelong education advocate and district patron.
Thank you to our partners whose generous funding of more than $25,000 made this year’s mini grants possible:
- Spring Branch Education Foundation
- CITGO
- First Community Credit Union
- McNair Foundation interest
We appreciate our partners’ support of educators and innovation in SBISD!
Please join us in congratulating these innovative J. Landon Short Mini Grant Winners:
