A Message from SBISD Superintendent of Schools

SBISD Family,

I write to share with you some important news.  Today, the Ector County ISD Board of Trustees named me as their lone finalist for the position of Superintendent of Schools.  If approved, I will be leaving Spring Branch ISD this summer to begin service in Ector County.  While I am excited about this new opportunity, I am also sad to leave my SBISD family.

Serving the SBISD community has been one of the highlights of my professional career.  I was drawn to Spring Branch ISD because of the focus this community has on effectively meeting the needs of every child.  We have worked hard to accomplish this goal and have made significant progress.  The work of our strategic plan, The Learner’s Journey, has resulted in improved academic outcomes for students and the narrowing of all achievement gaps.  We passed the 7th largest bond in the state of Texas and expanded our PreK program to include 3 year old students. Our schools are redesigning their learning environments and are more effectively personalizing learning experiences for students, and our team has made significant progress in ensuring that every child is T24 ready.  Great things are happening for students in Spring Branch ISD!

Thank you for your support of Spring Branch ISD.  I value and appreciate four years of incredible work on behalf of our children.  We have accomplished much, and I am truly grateful for the honor and privilege of serving as your Superintendent.  I will keep you posted on next steps.

Sincerely,

Scott R. Muri, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
