A Message from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Scott Muri

As I reflect on the coming Thanksgiving holiday, I find much to be thankful for in Spring Branch ISD.

I’m thankful that I serve with a Board of Trustees who puts Every Child at the center of every decision they make.

I’m thankful that I lead a school district of dedicated, passionate educators and professionals who work to make every day better for Every Child.

I’m thankful that I live in a community that cares deeply about its children and gives so generously of itself for Every Child.

And I’m thankful that not only our school district but our community lives out our core values of Collaborative Spirit, Collective Greatness, Limitless Curiosity, Moral Compass and yes – Every Child.

Everything we do in Spring Branch ISD is student-centered – for Every Child – and we’re better when we work with one another. Our core values guide us to make good decisions every day, for Every Child. It’s the right thing to do.

We have much for which to be proud this Thanksgiving. SBISD had a solid academic year, narrowing gaps between student groups and exceeding region, state and national averages on the SAT and ACT.

We are beginning work under the $898.4 million bond passed by voters in November 2017.

Our students and staff continue to be recognized by peers and others for state and national awards.

Data show that our students feel more connected to their schools.

There is still much to do, to see that Every Child in Spring Branch ISD reaches his or her full potential. But we live in Spring Branch ISD, where that potential of Every Child is nourished and nurtured. And I’m certainly thankful for that.

Have a safe and happy holiday.
