Dear SBISD Families and Community Members,

As you have just read in Dr. Muri's message, this afternoon the Ector County ISD Board of Trustees in Odessa, Texas, named Dr. Muri as the sole finalist to be their district's next superintendent.

We thank Dr. Muri for his four years of hard work and accomplishments. SBISD remains steadfast in our commitment to our five Core Values and our single-focused T-2-4 goal. We have improved academic achievement at the student and campus levels, passed our largest bond ever, and navigated the flood waters of Hurricane Harvey.

Dr. Muri will remain in SBISD until the end of the school year. We look forward to a strong finish to the year for our SBISD families, schools, partners, and, most importantly, your children.

The Board of Trustees will convene a special meeting within the next week to discuss the transition, at which time, we will begin the conversation to determine our process for identifying the next best leader for our school district.
